Since 1981, Haselgrove has been tending to vineyards and creating award-winning wine in the heart of McLaren Vale. Today, our winemaking team, headed by Andrew Locke, utilises a combination of traditional ‘old world’ winemaking techniques and the best modern practices to hand-craft artisan wines that reflect vintage conditions and display the terroir of the vineyard.

​In Celtic mythology, Lear is the personification of the sea. McLaren Vale's proximity to the coast makes this region an ideal location for growing Shiraz.

The Haselgrove team has selected the very best parcels of McLaren Vale Shiraz to create a wine of true distinction. This vibrant crimson wine displays intense aromas of ripe plum and blackberry, with hints of freshly roasted coffee and sweet spice notes.
Fruit forward with poise and elegance, the palate displays dark berry flavours, balanced by structural tannins and a persistent finish.
